Know our story
Being a part of the Fashion Industry, the most influential and trend-forward industry, what excited me the most were the colors, patterns & range of styles it had to serve.
Something new used to show itself in the market every day and I wasn’t able to resist taking a look at it. I was always fascinated by polyesters and the range of fabrics it had to offer- the textures, the comfort, bright colors and felt-like cotton wasn’t made for my body to adapt. Eventually, it became a mindset that I didn’t want to change. As time passed by, researching more on the industry and its different aspects- the process, the facts and the history, I was in shock. For so many years, I was wearing plastic on me; a petroleum-derived material, that was in direct contact with my skin- the largest organ that absorbs the fastest and adapts the quickest. This is when I decided to take small steps to learn about the fashion industry and implement it in my life by making conscious choices. Let’s say the first step was to shift to lightweight cotton-based fabrics.
Getting into it day by day, I got to see multiple facets of the fashion industry- the largest industry that employs women workers, being the largest polluter, areas where revival projects in craft are taking place, terms like ethical, sustainable, mindful, slow fashion and handlooms. These terms became relatable to me through hands-on situations and factual documentaries.
Guess what!
I tried to incorporate a small element of Mindful fashion in all of my projects, as I was studying in the field. Starting from yourself is the biggest change first and taking this step changed a lot of views for me. I was always connected to the beauty of nature & its vastness. Natural colors and fibres were the topics I wanted to opt for and kept on experimenting. I felt so connected that there was no chance of watching my footsteps. The process felt so relatable; it had its learnings, the outcome had its fascination and I didn’t want to stop here. Whatever learning I had gathered through my journey, I reflected on it. I want to protect it and work on advancing my brand.
Now, it has become my motto to make mindful lifestyle decisions by taking small steps, and conscious choices.
